FAM SPRING IS COMING. IT IS FINALLY COMING!!!

We genuinely hope you're not reading this accompanied by gently falling snow. But if you are: Spring is still on the way very soon. 

2026 is upon us, fam. It's got us all thinking about time and what to anticipate in the new year. You know, like people have been doing for CENTURIES. Question for you: How did that work out for the people in your past? No, not your ex-boyfriend from high school who used to play drums.

It's almost here, the moment you've been anticipating all this time. WE ARE RE-OPENING FRIDAY, JULY 25 AT 9 AM. And all the people said: Hooray!!!!!

If you've ever loved or used the library, we need you. 

Fam, it's colder than a polar bear's toenails out there. You know what that means? Time to escape the frigid temps with a hot read and a warm beverage. Unsure what material to choose? Feel like you've already picked up everything by your favorite creator?

Our #1 question at the NPL Temporary Branch these days: "What are you doing in there?" No, not at the Branch itself. Everyone is wild to know what's going on behind the scenes at 206 these days. 

One day, it happens: you search for a book in Normal PL's catalog or bookshelves, but it's NOT THERE. What to do?!? Like countless seekers before you, you approach a NPL staffer or email us or phone us.

Do you miss our main library building at 206 W. College yet? Yes, our wonderful annex across the street at 201 W. College is delightfully cute and beautifully stocked with a handful of new items in every format, staffed by the same smiling NPL faces you've come to know.

Oh friends: the December holidays are almost upon us. I don't know about you, but this is when I start to think about the best gifts to give to family and friends who celebrate.

It's (almost) the most wonderful time of the year: SPOOKTOBER. As you know, our Adult Reading Challenge for October 2023  is to read / listen to a spooky book. Ohhhhhhhh, friends, WE HAVE GOT YOU.

I've said it often: as the Collection Development Librarian for NPL, I have the best job in the building. Why? I get to purchase lots of materials for the library collection. I'm frequently asked, "How do you know what to buy?"

Ahhh... no feeling like summer reading in the shade. We at Camp NPL are EMBRACING THIS, friends. But what if you can't find something to read? You know the struggle, especially if you're a mood reader. Everything that looked shiny and perfect on the NPL shelves won't quite do when you get home.

Our doors and materials are open to everyone. Although most of our materials are in English, we also buy items in other languages, especially at the request of our community. Interested in reading or listening in Spanish? We have materials for all ages en español.
