Learning Circle: Optimizing Brain Fitness
Network Maintenance & Limited Services on December 2 & 3
On Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3, the Town of Normal's network will undergo maintenance that will impact many of the library's services. Our catalog, phone system, internet access, and printing services will likely be down during this work.
We are unsure how long or how extensive the outages will be during this maintenance weekend and appreciate everyone's patience as this maintenance is performed.
If you do come to the library to check out materials, please remember to bring your library card with you as we will not be able to look your account up with a photo ID. If you use our curbside service, please be prepared to provide your library card to staff assisting you. You will not be able to check out materials without your physical card present.

Learn something new! Participants will meet once a week to work through an online course with support from others.
For this learning circle, we will be working through the course Optimizing Brain Fitness, offered through The Great Courses. This six-week course centers on the idea that your brain is a continual work in progress, one whose development depends on the best possible use of your brain's most important everyday functions. Participants will explore many functions in this course, with a strong focus on attention, working memory, and general memory.
Those who do not have home Internet access will be able to check out a Chromebook and hotspot kit for the duration of the learning circle. Participants should plan to attend all six meetings in this program series, as each week’s material will build on the last.
Registration is required and space is limited.
