Poetry is Normal Presents Kelly Cressio-Moeller and Kelli Russell Agodon
Two poets with plenty in common will read from their new books on Tuesday, November 16, 7-8 pm Central Time on Facebook as part of the library’s ongoing Poetry is Normal Presents guest poet series supported by the Normal Public Library Foundation. The video will also be uploaded to NPL’s YouTube channel after the event. Virtual readings in 2021 have allowed poets and audience members from all over to attend.
Besides their own first names, Kelli with an “i” and Kelly with a “y” also have Two Sylvias in common. Kelli Russell Agodon is cofounder of Two Sylvias Press, which published Kelly Cressio-Moeller’s book, Shade of Blue Trees. Agodon will be reading from her newest book, Dialogues with Rising Tides.
Kelly Cressio-Moeller is a poet and visual artist. Her poems have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes, Best New Poets, and Best of the Net and have appeared widely in journals and at literary websites including Gargoyle, North American Review, Poet Lore, Escape Into Life, Salamander, THRUSH Poetry Journal, Valparaiso Poetry Review, Water~Stone Review, and ZYZZYVA, among others. She is an associate editor at Glass Lyre Press. A California resident, she lives in the Bay Area with her husband, two sons, and their basset hound. Shade of Blue Trees is her first poetry collection, the finalist for the Wilder Prize at Two Sylvias Press.
Kelli Russell Agodon’s newest book is Dialogues with Rising Tides from Copper Canyon Press. She is the author of four collections of poems, two books of poetry prompts, and she co-edited the first eBook anthology of women's poetry, Fire on Her Tongue. Kelli is the cofounder of Two Sylvias Press where she works as an editor and book cover designer. She lives in a sleepy seaside town in Washington State on traditional lands of the Chimacum, Coast Salish, S'Klallam, and Suquamish people where she is an avid paddleboarder and hiker. She teaches at Pacific Lutheran University’s low-res MFA program, the Rainier Writing Workshop.
