Applications close today, on February 9!
Is your child always busy creating something—keychains, slime, bracelets, or any other DIY project? Encourage them to apply to be part of Normal Public Library's Kid Market—a hands-on opportunity for future entrepreneurs to develop real-life business and money management skills. Participants will receive eight weeks of online business coaching to refine their idea and create their products, concluding with a market-style public event hosted by the library to sell their wares! This program is open to children ages 7–14. You may apply as sole business owners or with up to three business partners (for a total of four kids per business). Market day date will be May 17!
Kid Market 2025 applications will be accepted January 13, 2025 through February 9, 2025. Applications are now closed.

What makes a good application?
A good application will include:
- A unique product or service conceptualized or made by the Kid Marketer themselves. (No reselling of third-party products.).
- Descriptive language. Consider covering the following topics:
- What need or want does your product fulfill?
- What makes your product unique? Are you using interesting materials or techniques?
- Information about you! We want to know how you developed your concept. Did you work together with friends after school? Did you learn from a family member?
- Original Photos
- We really want to see a prototype you have made, not a photo of someone else's creation. Please spend time making one great example to include in your application and take some good photos.
- If your product is interactive, consider including a video of your product in action!
