Art supplies will be provided, just bring your creativity and any additional materials you'd like to add to your pumpkin! All skill levels and ages are welcome for this registered creation session. Can’t make this workshop but would like to participate in the contest? Pick up your foam pumpkin starting September 7 at any service desk to create your pumpkin at home!

The Great Pumpkin Contest Details:

Description: Young and old alike are invited to submit a design for the Normal Public Library’s Great Pumpkin Contest! Participants are encouraged to decorate a pumpkin based on a book or literary element of their choice, appropriate for all ages. Library staff will make final display decisions with entries using unsuitable imagery or language. Anyone can pick up a foam pumpkin from the library starting September 7 at any service desk (while supplies last) to design and return for voting by September 30!

Submission: Return your finished pumpkin to the second floor service desk between September 7-30. Voting will take place October 9-31. One entry per person, more than one person per household may enter. All ages are encouraged to participate.

Pumpkin Guidelines: Your pumpkin should be based on a book title, character, or literary element. You must use the provided pumpkin, but you may use other non-perishable materials to decorate.

Voting: Voting will take place October 9 until October 31 at the second floor service desk. The pumpkins with the most votes will take home a prize!

Pickup: If you’d like to keep your pumpkin, please pick it up from the second floor service desk from November 1-8.
