What I Give My Daughters: A Gathering of Wisdom of Black Girls
A Collaborative Workshop with Wonsook Kim School of Art at ISU intended for Black mothers and female-identified caregivers.
Anti-Black girl violence is on the rise. Research shows that Black girls are more likely to be antagonized in schools, on the internet, and in public spaces, than their White and Hispanic counterparts. How do we support our Black girls? Through conversation and art-making with Black mothers and female-identified caregivers, we’ll gather advice for Black daughters while getting to know other Black “mothers” in our community. This workshop will be led by Kantara Souffrant, PhD. No art experience necessary, you are perfect as you are!
Registration begins on February 17 and ends on April 17. Space is limited. Registration is currently not available for this event, as the library is closed until further notice.
