We are excited to welcome you back into our building for Grab + Go library service starting Monday, February 1 at 9 am.
We have been working hard to ensure that we have everything we need to provide a safe environment for you and your family to enjoy the library. At this time, we offer several ways to use the library: in our building for Grab + Go, through curb it or from home.
Health & Safety
With our region’s positivity rate decreasing, we will open the building in a way that keeps staff and patrons as safe as possible. We are asking that you adhere to the following guidelines when using the library:
- Wear an appropriate mask, keeping the nose and mouth covered at all times. No mask, no entry. This applies to all visitors aged 2 and above.
- Limit your time in the library to 1 hour or less per day
- Maintain at least a 6-foot distance from others at all times
- If you or anyone in your household is not feeling well, please do not visit the library
- Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available throughout the library and we encourage you to use them
- Use the self-check stations to check out your items
Certain areas and collections of the library will be unavailable for use, including meeting rooms, the Discovery Room, all puppets and toys, children’s computers and iPads, the tech playground and most seating areas. Notary and test proctoring services are not available at this time.
Our hours of operation remain the same as our current curbside hours:
Monday–Thursday: 9 am–6 pm
Friday & Saturday: 9 am–5 pm
Sunday: 1 pm–5 pm
Visit this page for updates as we are able to expand our services. If you need special accommodations, please call 309-452-1757 to discuss the available options.
Browsing & Checking Out
If you would like to browse our shelves, we welcome you to do so! With our Grab + Go service, we are encouraging you to limit your visit to one hour, and asking you to use our self-checkout stations to check out your items. Our staff will be available to assist you if needed.
To return your items, you can use our book drops located in our parking lot, throughout town or our drop inside the library. Due to our quarantine process, please allow 7 full days for returned items to come off of your library account. We no longer charge overdue fines, so do not worry if your item is in quarantine past its due date.
Curb It! Curbside Pickup
We continue to offer curbside pickup for holds and browser packs if you would prefer not to come inside the building. After you receive your pickup notice, come to one of our designated Curb It parking spots and we will bring your items to you!
Computer, Laptop & WiFi Use
Have you been waiting to apply for a job online, print out a resume or copy some documents? We have a limited number of computers available first-come first-serve. Computer use is limited to one hour a day per person. Printing, faxing and copying services are also available. Computers will be wiped down and disinfected between users.
Patrons may access the library's free WiFi from their own device for one hour per day. No additional time will be permitted until further notice. We also offer mobile hotspots available for checkout. Search for 'mobile hotspot' in our catalog to place one on hold.
NPL at Home
Many of our services are available online, including virtual events, eBooks, digital resources and more.
