    Book Sales from the Friends of the Normal Public Library

    Find great books and support the library at the same time!

    We have three Book Sales each year as well as an Ongoing Book Sale that you can check out any time you come to the library.

    Games Aren't Just for Kids

    We welcome ages 25 to 110 to come out on the first Friday of the month to try out a game, chat, snack, and meet a new friend!

    Feel free to bring a favorite game or play one of the many provided.

    GENre X - 20- & 30-Somethings Book Group

    Meet up with other 20- and 30-somethings at various Uptown Normal locations on the third Tuesday of each month for great conversation about a chosen book.

    Every fall, the Normal Public Library invites local model train enthusiasts to bring in their trains and layouts for everyone to enjoy.

    Tale for Two Cities

    Each year, the Normal Public Library and Bloomington Public Library select a book to be our Community Read.

    Books On the Go

    Our Senior Services Librarian visits the Community Activity Center (also known as the "Senior Center") regularly with stacks of books!

    Visit her to check out a book, sign up for a library card, or learn more about what the NPL has to offer!

    Computers

    The library offers dozens of computer with free Internet access, Word Processing, and more.

    We also have ZoomText available on many library computers. ZoomText magnifies the images on your screen to make computers easier to use for people with visual limitations.

    Deposit Collections

    We maintain collections at nursing homes and retirement facilities upon request.

    Our Senior Services Librarian selects materials that residents will enjoy and delivers books regularly so that there's always something new.

    Fine Free Cards

    The library offers Fine Free Cards to any patrons over the age of 60.

    Please let us know if you are over 60 and would like a Fine Free Card.

    Homebound Delivery Service

    We offer a delivery service for NPL patrons who are unable to come in to the library because of a physical condition.

    Large Print and Audiobooks

    We offer a wide collection of fiction and non-fiction books in audiobook and large print formats.

    Bi-Folkal Kits

    Bi-Folkal Kits are collections of materials designed to bring back memories and encourage the sharing of experiences among seniors. Themes include "Farm Days," "Remembering the Depression," and many more.

    These kits are ideal for group activities for seniors.
