The library hosts three book sales a year to raise money for special activities and items.
2013 Book Sale Dates
March 22 (Preview Sale), March 23 & 24
August 2 (Preview Sale), August 3 & 4
November 8 (Preview Sale), November 9 & 10
The thousands of used books that we sell in these sales are donated by generous library patrons and community members or withdrawn from the library’s collection.
In addition to books, you will also find other media, such as cds, dvds, and more.

We could never do these sales without the help of our dedicated volunteers.
Our volunteers put in a lot of work: sorting and storing books, setting up for sales, running the sales, and cleaning up when they’re over.

Supporting the Library
The library could not be more grateful for the funds that we raise through these sales.

The Preview Sale is a great opportunity, since books go fast!
Membership in the Friends of the Normal Public Library is no longer required. These sales are now open to anyone who pays $5 at the door. Anyone under 12-years-old is free.
Lifetime memberships will still be honored for free admission to the Preview Sale.
After each sale, there are still hundreds of books that just didn’t sell. Stop by to take as many as you can carry – for free!
Teachers and organizations are very, very welcome. We love seeing the books go to a good cause!

The Ongoing Book Sale
Can’t wait for the next Book Sale? Good news! We now have a small-scale Book Sale going on whenever the library is open.
You’ll find shelves of books for sale along the wall to the right of the Front Desk. Many of these books are hand-picked popular titles.
Check it out each time you come to the library!
